Aboud J. Al-Zaim, PE, President
Mr.  Al-Zaim is a registered professional engineer who has more than 24 years of experience in design, and construction management of civil and structural engineering projects.

He has extensive design experience in Bridges, Highways and Building Structures. Over the years he has been involved in and responsible for supervising the design, construction and inspection including the  cost estimating; specifications; shop drawings reviews; planning, monitoring, and coordinating design and construction issues; initiating, reviewing and tracking construction change orders. Mr. Al-Zaim has a unique ability to anticipate and solve problems, he is skilled at reaching organizational and project objectives on time or ahead of schedule. He possesses excellent management and communication skills and excels at devising easier and more economical design/construction and work methods.

Before establishing AJA Engineering, Mr. Al-Zaim worked for top ENR consulting firms, holding senior management positions, and directing multi million dollars projects within the US and Internationally.
Mr. Al-Zaim is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineering, the Boston Society of Civil Engineers Section, the American Concrete Institute, and the American Military Engineers. He has been elected and appointed to numerous local government positions including Planning Boards and Conservation and Designer Selection Committees. Mr. Al-Zaim received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering at Northeastern University, Boston, MA, USA.

Sam Shemais, PE
Senior Civil/Structural Engineer

Mr. Shemais has over 35 years of experience in design, engineering, engineering and construction management. Throughout the years he has been responsible for all project phases; form the preparation of proposal to final design, and construction management.

Mr. Shemais’ Engineering experience include heavy industrial, commercial, residential, and highway projects, his involvement included supervising and participation in plant layouts, specification preparation, economic studies, vendor negotiations and proposal evaluation.  He also was lead Structural Engineer and Supervising C/S/A Engineer of many projects.

His experiences with design included development of design criteria and construction specifications, structural analysis, preparation of construction drawings and review of shop drawings. His construction background includes factory inspection, site inspection, field liaison, client consultation, and coordination with construction forces. Mr. Shemais is highly skilled in computer use both in Engineering and Business applications, which have been productively used to complete projects under budget and on schedule.

 Mr. Shemais received his MS in Civil Engineering, Structural Major from Northeastern University, Boston, Massachusetts, is a Registered Professional Engineer, and a member of ASCE and BSCE, AISC and AITC. Before joining AJA Engineering, Mr. Shemais worked for E/A and Consulting firms, holding Engineering and management positions of multi million dollars projects within the US and the Middle East
